Akhlaq: The Beauty of Islam and the Mirror of Iman - Jummah Update

Qur’an Verse
Allah says in the Qur’an:
“وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ"
"And indeed, you (O Muhammad) are upon an exalted standard of character.” (Surah Al-Qalam 68:4)
Hadith
When the companions asked the Prophet ﷺ, “What leads most people to Paradise?”, he ﷺ replied:
“تقوى الله، وحسن الخلق."
"Taqwa of Allah and good character.” (Tirmidhi – Sahih)
Imam’s Statement
If your akhlaq is corrupt, your worship cannot save you. Because our Prophet ﷺ warned of the one who prays and fasts and gives charity but harms people, lies, gossips, slanders, and curses ends up bankrupt on the Day of Judgment.
Things to Consider
- How do I speak to people below me?
- Do I slander, gossip, backbite?
- Am I honest in business and with my family?
- Do I forgive or do I hold grudges?
