السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Alhamdulillah the crescent moon has been sighted, and Eid al-Fitr will be on Sunday 30th March 2025.
Whether you are celebrating Eid al-Fitr on Sunday or Monday, at Dover Masjid we wish everyone celebrating this joyous occasion a wonderful Eid Mubarak!
We pray all our fasts, worship, good deeds and du’as in the sacred month of Ramadan are accepted by Allah (SWT). May all our sins be forgiven, our good deeds continue for the rest of the year and may we reach another Ramadan – ameen.
🕗 Prayer Timings (UK)
- First Jama’at: 8:00 AM
- Second Jama’at: 9:00 AM
👩👩👧👧 Sisters are welcome to attend both jama’ats.
💰 Ensure you have paid your Zakat al-Fitr (Fitrana)
Please pay at least £6 per person before Eid salaat if you haven’t done so already. It cannot be paid at the Masjid.
This is a compulsory charitable donation of food that must be given before Eid prayer, before the end of Ramadan, for the love of Allah. Zakat al-Fitr is obligatory upon every self-supporting adult Muslim who has food in excess of their needs, on behalf of themselves and their dependants.
❤️ Donations
Please also donate generously to the Masjid. Taqaballahu Minna Wa Minkum (May Allah accept from us all).
🌙 Perform Ghusl
It is a highly recommended Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) to perform Ghusl (ritual cleansing) before Eid prayer and wear your best clothes. This act of purification signifies physical and spiritual cleanliness as we gather for this congregational prayer to give thanks to Allah.
Eat in the morning
It is Sunnah to eat something before the Eid prayer. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) reportedly ate dates before going out to prayer.
Ramadan is a sacred month in which Muslims strive to perform extra good deeds, including giving charity. However, we can keep the momentum of Ramadan going and give regularly in charity throughout the year.
